Nickie Mueller
I’m the Personal Trainer Coordinator and nationally certified personal trainer for the Central Clemson Rec Center. My national training certification is through NESTA and I’m also a certified as a Mind Body Fitness Coach, Lifestyle Weight Management Specialist, and a certified Green Living Coach. My passion for personal training began in college when I started working for a local gym. I focused my education on health science and nutrition earning my BS at Clemson University in 1996.
I’m very passionate about helping others find happiness in life and feel good about themselves. I make a point to make each workout fun and always customize my clients workouts for what their needs and goals are.
For me, a healthy lifestyle is much more than just lifting weights, I love helping others see and experience what their bodies are capable of with just enough hard work. I make it a goal to help my clients achieve a happy and well-balanced lifestyle that will minimize the risk of future health-related issues.

David Shealy
I am an ACE certified personal trainer, recently specialized in Senior Fitness, and I also have training in Corrective Exercise Therapy from ISSA. With my clients here at the Rec, I like to combine traditional strength training with functional exercises that will help them better perform the tasks they need or want to do in their daily lives; and whatever they actually find fun!
I became a fitness enthusiast back in my teenage years, riding the excitement of going from very out of shape nerd to slightly athletic nerd. After years of training on my own and a year of helping
care for my grandmother, I witnessed up-close-and-personal the ways that neglect of one's body can lead to hardship and even loss of independence. In 2019, I finally took the plunge and pursued a career in fitness and wellness to help others achieve their own goals, and to keep their bodies serving them well as they age.
My philosophy is that fitness is a form of self-improvement, and part of the path to becoming the person we wish to be. It should be challenging, but not a chore. Uncomfortable, but good uncomfortable. The gym is a place where we turn small and managed hardships into big and pervasive victories! And, as I tell everyone, you’re only racing against Numero Uno in here.
